Types for Dyadic Interaction
نویسنده
چکیده
We formulate a typed formalism for concurrency where types denote freely composable structure of dyadic interaction in the symmetric scheme. The resulting calculus is a typed reconstruction of name passing process calculi. Systems with both the explicit and implicit typing disciplines, where types form a simple hierarchy of types, are presented, which are proved to be in accordance with each other. A typed variant of bisimilarity is formulated and it is shown that typed-equality has a clean embedding in the bisimilarity. Name reference structure induced by the simple hierarchy of types is studied, which fully characterises the typable terms in the set of untyped terms. It turns out that the name reference structure results in the deadlock-free property for a subset of terms with a certain regular structure, showing behavioural signiicance of the simple type discipline.

The Effect of Mixed and Matched Level Dyadic Interaction on Iranian EFL Learners’ Comprehension and Production of Requests and Apologies
Drawing upon sociocultural theory of Vygotsky, the current study aims to investigate the effect of dyadic interaction in mixed and matched level proficiency pairings on comprehension and production of request and apology speech acts. The participants were 125 EFL learners who were randomly assigned to control and experimental (interaction) groups. Based on their scores in the pretest including ...
متن کاملAn investigation into the frequency of Language Related Episodes in the EFL learners’ Homogeneous and Heterogeneous Dyadic Interaction
This study attempted to compare the relative frequency of the occurrence of Language Related Episodes (LREs) in the dyadic talks of pairs who were homogeneous and heterogeneous in terms of English proficiency. LREs are those parts of the conversations where the interlocutors explicitly focus on linguistic form. The study was carried out with 60 Iranian university students of teaching English a...
متن کاملA Comparative Study of the Effect of Homogeneous and Heterogeneous Collaborative Interaction on the Development of EFL Learners’ Writing Skill
This study investigates the effect of homogeneous and heterogeneous peer interaction on the development of Iranian EFL learners’ writing skill. Sixty female students of TEFL participated in the study. The participants were divided into two groups based on their English proficiency test scores. The homogeneous group consisted of 14 participants paired with partners with similar English proficien...
متن کاملThe Effects of Interrupting Behavior on Interpersonal Attitude and Engagement in Dyadic Interactions
Interruptions frequently occur in dyadic human interaction. In addition to serve as turn-taking mechanism, they may lead to different perceptions of both the interruptee and interrupter’s interpersonal attitude, engagement and involvement. We present an empirical study to investigate whether different interruption types (i.e. amount of overlap between speakers and utterance completeness) and st...
متن کاملThe Pairing of Contracts and Session Types
We pair session types and contracts using two encodings. The encoding of session types accommodates width and depth subtyping, two properties that partially hold in contracts. The encoding of contracts accommodates complex synchronization patterns, since session types own a simple control protocol. The encodings allow one to use the two formalisms interchangeably, within the context of dyadic i...
